Multi-instrumentalist Kayobe shares ‘Miss You Blame You’ off of his new album

Toronto-based musician Kayobe has shared his intoxicating single ‘Miss You Blame You’, which comes off of his new album Island To Bridges via Physical Presents. His previous success includes features in Atwood Magazine Aupium, Impose Magazine and Canadian Beats for his EP titled Hidden. Kayobe’s song ‘Sun Don’t Shine’ ft. Olive B was featured in Celeb Mix’s New Music Round Up. He currently sits on over 1.3 million streams for his music.

Kayobe loves traveling and has been to over 25 countries including Peru, Spain, Colombia, USA Panama, and Nicaragua. He is always finding inspiration for a beat or lyric to his music from these travels, and unique experiences along the way.  He cites being influenced by the work of Daphni, Thom Yorke, DJ Shadow, Frank Ocean, Caribou, Bon Iver, Thundercat, Foals, FKA Twigs, Björk, Portishead, James Blake, and Nick Hakim.  The drumbeat of ‘Miss You Blame You’ hooks the listener into its catchy rhythmic embrace, textured soundscapes and tender female and male vocals fill the tranquil moments.

Speaking of the track, Kayobe shares: “Miss You/Blame You is about wanting to be in two places at once – either physically or emotionally. You can be grateful for where you are, while at the same being resentful that you’re not somewhere else. The vocals are from a writing session I did in Toronto with the talented Veronica, and the track was produced much later when I was living in the UK. Hope you enjoy!”

Speaking of the album, Kayobe explains, “Islands to Bridges was written and recorded on three different continents and was inspired by the sights and sounds around me. There were phases during the creation of this album when I was feeling more solitary (islands), and phases when I was feeling compelled to connect more deeply with others (bridges). There are more energetic party tracks, and more subdued chillout tracks – I hope they take you on a journey from wherever you are to wherever you want to be.”
