Hannah Schneider’s video for ‘We Will be the Only sound In the World’ has been shared, and bears testament to both her and the director, Tine Reingaard’s ability to set music to motion picture. “I would describe the film as an exploration of the yearning for human and planetary flourishing,” Reingaard says.
Schneider amplifies the stillness found within the mind and introduces it to luscious imagery, as a young girl sits next to the ocean clutching a rock. She paints a few rocks blue, perhaps metaphorically speaking of our tendency to return to nature when we need healing. “On one hand, the film shows a naive attempt to reconnect with nature. On the other hand, it depicts a humble gesture of sincere respect. Listening for a new kind of answer. A poetic calling, acknowledging the limits of the human intellect”, Reingaard explains
Scheider’s voice remains the focal point, creating a sonic and visual experience that is expansive while remaining completely uncluttered – its scope intimate, direct and accessible.
