The iconic Café del Mar has teamed up with techno titans Pig&Dan to unleash Journey Within, their first-ever artist-led album, hitting the scene on June 13, 2025. This release is a big deal for both the Ibiza legend, famous for its chillout and Balearic vibes that have defined sunset sessions for decades, and Pig&Dan, the duo known for tearing up dancefloors at heavy-hitters like Tomorrowland and Awakenings. Marking their 45th anniversary, Café del Mar is shaking things up, stepping beyond their compilation roots into a new era of artist-driven projects. For Pig&Dan, this album flips the script from their usual high-BPM techno onslaught, diving into a more introspective space that still pulses with their signature edge.

The sound on Journey Within mixes gritty dub layers with lush psychedelia and chilled-out beats, crafting a vibe that’s both rooted in Café del Mar’s heritage and a bold leap forward. Kicking things off, ‘Can’t Do It On My Own’ lays down a moody foundation with deep, textured instrumentation and haunting strings, building into a vocal that hits you right in the chest—perfect for those late-night, soul-searching listens.

Ken Fan, Café del Mar’s resident DJ and Music Curator, couldn’t hold back his hype: “Pig&Dan sent me this unsigned album last year, and after testing the tracks in my daily sets, the crowd’s reaction said it all. Every time I included them in a mix, people were asking what they were, and Shazaming with no results. It’s a brilliant start to our first artist release at Café del Mar, with more to come. Watch this space.” With killer artwork by David Robles, Journey Within doesn’t just nod to the Balearic past—it’s a loud signal that Café del Mar Music is ready to redefine its future.
