Tomorrow, November 14, The DADA Project—brainchild of Diane Arkenstone and David Arkenstone—releases ‘Ocean Serenade’, teasing their upcoming album Hotel Del Mar due early next year. David’s career includes Grammy-nominated scores for films, TV, and games like World of Warcraft, plus holiday staples and recent wins at Clouzine and World Entertainment Awards for fantasy-tinged instrumentals. Diane, a Billboard-charting force in meditative and world music, brings her opera roots from Neo Pacifica, where she synced music with apps like Aura Health and organizations like the American Heart Association. Their joint history spans compilations and experiments, but here they lean into the lyrical, rhythm-heavy style they’ve long desired, fusing ambient foundations with tracks evoking seaside bliss and exotic drifts.
The single rides a crisp beat that supports airy vocals exploring harmony between people and the pristine surroundings of the ocean, delivering a seductive pull through its mid-range tempo and layered instrumentation. Percussion simmers low, giving space for melodic lines that build and flow like the waves along the shoreline. At the same time, the lyrics sketch out interpersonal sparks against ocean backdrops. This track provides a refined take on lounge electronica with New Age heart.
David Arkenstone shared: “Over the years, we’ve stayed at so many wonderful hotels, and were always drawn to the mood of those poolside or seaside soundtracks—that dreamy, toe-tapping mix that just got the vibe right. With this album, I set out to capture that same feeling in our own music.” Diane Arkenstone added: “We love creating new worlds and beautiful places through our music. Hotel Del Mar was incredibly fun to write and record because even though we were in the studio, we could feel the energy of an exotic place, next to a magnificent ocean, through every song we wrote.“
