How yetep’s The ÿ Album Redefines Electronic Music and Uplifts Community

yetep, the Seoul-born, Los Angeles-based producer and DJ, releases his first full-length project The ÿ Album today through Lost In Dreams. He first caught attention with monthly SoundCloud mixes that drew listeners in with their emotional weight and broad song selection. That approach helped him build a dedicated international audience. His original tracks, which draw from multiple electronic styles, found support from names like Seven Lions, Dabin, and Adventure Club, along with placements on Lost In Dreams, Ophelia, and Monstercat.

Kicking off with a lead single in May, the project weaves together melodic bass, future bass, and heartfelt EDM, capturing the electric yet intimate vibe of his live shows. The ÿ Album refuses to be boxed in by a single idea. Instead, each track breathes in its own space, all while echoing yetep’s first love for music: genre-hopping with abandon, just as he did on SoundCloud and Tumblr. A highlight, ‘Hate It When It’s You’, fuses melodic house with subtle UK garage touches. The track dances between tension and release, as Trella’s ethereal vocals trace the struggle of resisting new emotions before surrendering. yetep paints the soundscape with wistful piano, warped vocal snippets, and crisp, shuffling percussion, all building to a lush, saturated melodic bass finale.

At its core, the album pulses with yetep’s deep-rooted commitment to community. Through his Common Unitÿ initiative, he uplifts homeless youth and champions mental health, a spirit of unity that echoes throughout the record. The album unfolded slowly, reflecting his evolving musical and personal journey. It emerges as his most expansive and revealing work yet, pushing his sound further while holding tight to the genuine, connective spirit that defines him.

yetep shared: “When I first started writing this album, I wanted it to feel open format. I started my music career making mixes on SoundCloud and posting them on Tumblr, just playing whatever I loved with no genre rules at all. That freedom is what made me fall in love with music in the first place. With this album, I wanted to bring that same energy back, the way my live sets feel. It’s all over the place on purpose. It’s genreless, and I’m really proud of that. There’s something on this album for everyone, and I think that’s what makes it special.
