Synthwave producer DEADLIFE releases captivating album, City of Eternal Rain

If you do not know who DEADLIFE is, and you are a fan of synthwave music, I recommend that you continue reading this article. DEADLIFE is an up and coming synthwave producer based in Manchester, who has already gained popularity on US Billboards Electronic Album Sales chart top 20 in August 2019, which includes two of his albums! The DJ has also won titles like Best Synthwave Album 2017 by MetalSucks and best Dark Synth Album 2019 by followers of Russia based label Retrowave Touch. He has also received support from publications like Bloody Disgusting, Metal Sucks, and Iron Skullet.

The music producer used to form part of a touring band, but after realizing he could not showcase his creative capabilities in the band, he decided to teach himself how to produce electronic music. Inspired by the emotionally crafted tone of video games soundtracks, DEADLIFE would use this as a foundation to create intricate work. His latest work provides the video game soundscape, but with a gentler approach than his darkwave style from previous works.

DEADLIFE explains, “City of Eternal Rain is a concept album that is inspired by the direct contrast between dark and light. That no matter how bad things get, there is always hope. The record is, like many of them, created to feel like you’ve heard it before, but you don’t remember it, to instill nostalgia in your mind and remind you of a time your memory grasps at but can’t quite recall.”

“I’ve realized in life it takes more bravery and courage to be who you are and bare all, rather than to hide it away, which we often do, which I did in my younger years. It’s time to be honest, to directly reflect that which I feel within what I write.”
