dj poolboi has released la nuit n’en finit plus featuring the award-winning singer Clio, a stunning dream-pop remake of the 1960’s French original by Petula Clark. The Texan producer also recently released melodic deep-house offering ‘take me far away.’ Both tracks are lifted from his upcoming album stay just a little while longer which will be released on the 4th of March 2022 via Unbelievably Spectacular Records. The album looks set to showcase dj poolboi’s versatility as a producer, as he blurs the lines between genres and styles.

On ‘la nuit n’en finit plus‘ he steers the original track towards the dancefloor. Listening to either the original or dj poolboi’s take, one wouldn’t think that the lyrics were actually marred with melancholy, but dj poolboi elaborates: “I first heard Petula Clark’s classic 1963 French song in the 2014 film ‘Two days, One night’. It’s a film I deeply connected with on its theme of depression and anxiety. The song fits perfectly. The chords are uplifting while the lyrics are profoundly melancholic which is something I’ve always gravitated towards; the idea of the happiness and sadness of life captured in one song.”

Clio’s honeyed vocals are definitely a highlight on the track, and nestle beautifully between the layers of synths and sonic embellishments. “I was inspired to give my own interpretation and found Clio to be the perfect fit to put her vocal interpretation on the track”, he says
