Toronto-based musician Homeshake (the musical project of Peter Sagar) has released a 126-track compendium, the ‘Pareidolia Catalog’. The catalogue spans eight volumes and has been released in conjunction with a physical cassette tape pack and a t-shirt, created in collaboration with Brain Dead.

The bountiful collection of tracks serves as a long-form collage of woozy beats and wandering synthesisers, to be enjoyed at length or in short infrequent doses, its a sonic exploration that was formed across a six-month period whilst Homeshake enjoyed time between touring.

Homeshake provides further insight into the project: “these tracks were made between December 2020 and august 2021.  at the time Salina and I were going on long walks almost every day, and we’d always point out the faces and things we’d see in houses, walls, trees, cars or whatever.  I started recording them with that in mind, using a couple guitars, a po-33 sampler, a mellotron, and various effects pedals, recorded into a looper.”

Homeshake will additionally be embarking on live shows across the UK and Europe from September 14th, in support of his most recent record,  2021’s acclaimed “Under The Weather”. He’ll spend the first leg on the British isles taking on dates across Glasgow,  Manchester,  Leeds,  London and Brighton with support from Fauzia and Joviale, before heading across to the European mainland, stopping in France, Germany,  Italy and more. Tickets on sale here, see the full tour itinerary below.

Last year’s release of the tranquil and cloudy twelve-track compendium “Under The Weather” was met with critical acclaim, produced in collaboration with Lucas Nathan of Jerry Papers. The record is to be performed at length, with synthesisers and live instrumentation bringing the foggy grooves and twinkling ambience of to new sonic environments.  “Under The Weather” is an atmospheric, 12-track reflection on life and depression, and documents a long, unrelenting period of sadness for the artist. Keep your eyes peeled for some exciting Homeshake news in the near future, as new music has been hinted at on the horizon.

The album’s release was supported by the Keith Rankin-directed video, I Know I Know I Know, one of three singles shared in tandem with an animated visual, following Passenger Seat, directed by Pete Sharp and Vacuum, directed by Jordan Speer. Homeshake teamed up with Brain Dead Studios, the producer for each of the videos, to create a cohesive visual universe around the record with the animations and forthcoming merchandise. To coincide with the album’s release, a special line of Under The Weather products was also released in collaboration with the aforementioned LA-based streetwear brand Brain Dead, including an exclusive colour vinyl pressing, long-sleeve t-shirt, hoodie, hat, and rug.
