Following the release of his EP In a Sky of Blue last month, alternative meets folk soloist Cujo Moon has announced his upcoming EP Bridges II (releasing the 26th of March via Cujo Moon & Tone Tree Music. Giving us a taste of what to expect on the next EP, the songwriter has unveiled his single ‘Watch You Shine’ today.
We are the lost souls at sea and Cujo Moon’s music is the lighthouse that is shimmering in the distance.‘Watch You Shine’ adopts a more hopeful approach, asserting the listener with lyrics like “Come on my love, it’s going to be alright” / We can leave the darkness far behind”. This single is indeed for anyone that has felt they have lost their way in life, and in search of brighter horizons.
Speaking about the magic behind his latest song, Cujo Moon says, “Being the first Cujo Moon song that I produced, this track really inspired the sound and direction for the songs that followed. The lyrics were inspired by a TV show where a father is estranged from his son due to years of drug use. The song sat in my voice memos for months before I felt moved to produce it. Unfortunately, a super talented and long-time student of mine committed suicide at the age of 14, that December. It was a tragic event for everyone close to the family and I was completely torn up. Shortly after, I recorded this song as a sort of catharsis. I’d like to dedicate it to his family, in loving memory of Jaden.”
