Kina is an italian duo composed by Pasquale Renella (1999) and Giuseppe Garotti (2000) raised in the outskirts of Naples, Italy. The two individuals began to create music in very early years and decided to get together for a two man project named ‘Kina‘ in 2017.
Ever since, Pasquale and Giuseppe has been working on new tunes on a regular basis, growing a considerable audience and collaborated with other producers to persue their passion for producing downbeat-electronic lo-fi music.
In regards to their ultimate mission, they comment, “the main aim of ‘Kina’ project is to spread the mood and emotions of the artists and try to totally emphatize with the listeners.”
To those not familiar with you, how would you describe your sound?
Only by listening to it one could describe our sound, the “Kina” project is the result of emotions that fit in closely with what the listener feels at that moment.
How did it all start for you?
It all started from our passion for music which then turned into an innovative empathic, emotional project.
Are there any key pieces of equipment that you can’t live without?
We could not do without everything that has to do with the production of our songs, from the laptop to our inseparable headphones.
What are some of your key influences in your music? Whether it be the sound created by others, imagery, films or any kind of art form.
We are inspired by those moments that give us strong feelings and choose the sounds that most reflect us. XXXTENTACION, Shallou, Madeon and Porter Robinson are among the most influential artists that contributed to our growth as producers.
What is one sub-genre you think doesn’t get the attention it deserves?
The music genre that is not given the right attention is indeed the the lo-fi / chill music that contributed to our birth. Our thanks go to youtube channels like thebootlegboy that are fundamental for the growth of this genre.
Any new or upcoming artists on your radar?
One of the artists that we really like at the moment is cøzybøy with whom we made our last single “light headed”. Other artists who deserve a lot more attention are: Madson Project. , Kido, Thomas Reid, Roiael and beowulf.

What single night out has been the most memorable for you? As performers? As attendees?
As attendees we really enjoyed the Galantis live in Milan, while as performers we hope to play as soon as possible with the project “Kina”.
What is your favorite venue of all times?
For now we have focused to the activity of producer but we would like to start soon the experience of “live” and get in direct contact with our listeners and participate in wonderful events like “Coachella” and “Tomorrowland”.
What can we expect from you in the near future? Any upcoming projects or gigs in the pipeline that you would like to tell us about?
Well, we can not tell you much right now but expect soon something really great from us. Keep on supporting us and you will not regret it!
