Indie Electronic Duo Solstis Reveal Their Transcendent Sound On New Song ‘Miss You’

The award-winning Duo released ‘Miss You,’ the latest single to lead up to the release of their first EP As The Sun Hits which is due for release this Friday via Lowly Palace. The EP will be the first of their 3-part EP series to highlight Solstis’ new sound. ‘Miss You’ is the second single from the Seattle-based duo’s upcoming EP, following the success of ‘About You.’ The duo enjoyed major successes from ‘Echoes’ which went viral and their remixes for Melanie Martinez. Collectively they racked up over 25 million plays across all platforms. Solstis won Electric Forest’s Discovery Project and have since performed at numerous festivals such as Backwoods, SXSW, Spring Awakening and Reaction NYE.

Solstis are Andy Garcia and Brandon Myers, they started collaborating as part of a rock band in high school, but were deeply inspired by the early electronic dance music. The emerging future bass movement, resonated and inspired them to combine elements from their rock band days with electronic elements. After the release of their debut album Nowhere in 2018, Solstis focused on transitioning away from point-and-click production to easy-listening instrumentation inspired by music artists like the Smashing Pumpkins, Slowdive, Jai Wolf and ford. Solstis’s new aesthetic, comparable to BlackBird BlackBird, Odesza and Slow Magic, bring every listener a sense of freedom and transparency.

Reflecting on ‘Miss You’, Solstis said, “We wanted to step away from our tracks always having a “drop” and focus more on creating a floating feeling that carries throughout the song as a whole.” We can’t wait to hear what the entire EP holds. Listen to the new track below.
