Switzerland born music producer Urs Wild made his first experience with computer-based music production at the age of eight, on an Atari ST. Urs Wild creates ambient, chilled music with a taste of electronic.
Urs Wild started to produce electronic music in 1996 and he had played some gigs. In January 2018 he had founded Neverspace Records to provide a platform for underground electronic music producers, to support them and to bring their music to an audience.
Describe your sound for us. What do you want people to feel when they hear your music?
My music comes from my heart and there is nothing more beautiful than to reach the hearts of my listeners, make them think, or open their minds.
Which 3 artists have influenced you the most growing up?
Aphex Twin, Jean-Michel Jarre and Brian Eno
How did you discover your particular sound?
By chance, when a friend of mine showed me a track by Burial
What are the most important pieces of equipment to you?
A Midi Keyboard, Monitors, a good set of headphones and an audio interface that suits my needs. On the software side, I need a Sequencer that works the way I expect it to do. There is nothing worse for me then to spend time finding functions somewhere hidden in the menus.
What outside of music inspires you to create?
Everything around me. A situation, an emotion, ascent. Actually my very life.
Do you have a favourite memory of your career so far that you will take with you forever?
I will never forget playing my first gig 20 years ago. Seeing the masses reacting to your music was pure magic. However, that was way before AUEL. More recently I managed to bring together ten artists to work on a beautiful charity album. That sure is something I will never forget.
If you could work with, or perform alongside any artist living or passed, who would it be?
Burial
Most artists say that if they weren’t artists they would be mailmen/women… what would you be?
It would be something technical for sure. I loved to fix broken tech when I was a boy and ever since that fascination persists.
What can we expect from you in the near future? Any upcoming projects or gigs in the pipeline that you would like to tell us about?
Currently, I am finishing collaborations, but with winter incoming, I may begin to work soon on a new album or EP inspired by the time of the year.
