The Odsherred Session story. The exquisite collaboration, that is BAK//RORDAM, stems from a long and cherished friendship, that started when Frans and Jan both rented a new studio space in Copenhagen, Denmark and became neighbours.
Having spent many an evening together with friends, talking and playing music, a dream was born to get together in Frans’s summerhouse, move a studio there, and create some music. And that’s exactly what they did in the Summer of 2020. The result is an enchanting, melodic, seven track EP that is inspired by some of their favourite places – home, (Forchhammer), Frans’s summerhouse (Odsherred), Jan’s house in Sweden (Piksborg Bridge) – with dulcet tones, that are perfect to unwind to at the end of the day, and which lure you into a feeling that everything is going to be okay.
Multi- instrumentalists and masters of seamless melody, with Frans playing his signature, minimal piano, and Jan, his catchy acoustic guitar ditties on the EP; their unique styles working harmoniously together, fusing modern classical and pop/new age folk, majestically. Both have been composing, songwriting and producing music for many years, with a string of successful compositions for TV and film (The Killing, Bamse’s Picture Book), and a number of acclaimed album and single releases under their belts (Sound of North, Piano, Between The Lines, Stardust In Your Hands).
Frans and Jan have immersed themselves in a number of musical adventures and have hugely diverse careers, being ardent collaborators, as well as having successful solo careers of their own.
