Neo-soul producer Jerry Folk provides ‘Everything’ with latest single and music video

We’re mildly entranced with Jerry Folk’s latest single, ‘Everything’ which, quite simply, lives up to its name. Along for the ride comes a nostalgia-tinged music video, directed by Thomas Flått, that celebrates the simplicity of friends unwinding and enjoying doing nothing together. We’re told the single foretells the approach of Jerry Folk’s debut full-length LP with will also incorporate his side project FENGSEL and take his sound in an entirely new direction.

With over 222 million plays across streaming platforms, the Norwegian producer is quickly establishing himself on the scene, with remixes for Billie Eilish, Charlie Puth and Oh Wonder doing nothing to hurt this growing reputation. While we wouldn’t normally advocate Billie Eilish’s music, we think Jerry Folk’s remix of ‘Six Feet Under’ is definitely worth checking out. That being said, the producer’s own single ‘To My Soul’ is similarly enticing, as he proves his worth with his own creations.

Jerry Folk shares the origin story for ‘Everything’: “I made this single a couple of years ago at a time where I was experiencing a little overwhelming sadness and locked myself in the studio to make music that made me feel better. I was very inspired by music videos and nature at the time and wanted to capture how I felt and create a universe for the feeling to exist in. This kickstarted my idea for the album and the idea for my new side project, Fengsel. The single, album and side project will all be involved in my debut album called Fengsel.”
