Well-known synthwave producer Waveshaper has captured our attention once more with the release of the second single from his upcoming album, Mainframe. ‘Lost In The Cloud’ is a unique, immersive experience that carries the listener into a digital slumber. Where lies the danger? Where lies the unknown? The underlying threat in the song keeps us on our tones and ignites the imagination.
The single is the second to be released from the upcoming album, with the first (‘Friends Again’) earning the producer an interview with Synthian and a feature in Wave Music. It was during the interview with Synthian that Waveshaper shared the story of how he came to create his uniquely captivating version of synthwave:
“I sort of did this kind of music for myself before it became a genre. In the early 2000s, I did covers of The Terminator & Running man themes. I thought no one would be interested in listening to this but I had wrong :). I started the project in 2013 after I found out about a couple of artists that were doing this really good.”
While it’s difficult to truly get an idea of what to expect from an unreleased LP with just a tracklisting, the creative song names (such as ‘The Phantom Machine’ and ‘Artificial Promises’) have already caught our attention. It’s fair to say we’ll be watching the release timer in the link above closely.
