Old Fashioned Lover Boy releases his new track ‘Modern Life’

Alessandro Panzeri, better known as Old Fashioned Lover Boy has released his next single ‘Modern Life,’ accompanied by a video. Lifted from his upcoming album, set to be released via A Modest Proposal Records, ‘Modern Life’ follows on from the recently released ‘I Pray.’

Panzeri has passionately promoted Indie and Rock music in his native city Naples, and since moving to Milan in 2013, shifted his focus to a singer/songwriter approach. After releasing his first EP in 2014, ‘The Iceberg Theory,’ performed all over Italy, steadily growing a local following. The release of his debut album ‘Our Life Will Be Made of Simple Things’ saw him gain international traction, building a fanbase in the UK and the USA.

Modern Life’ is an interesting commentary on the world as we know it today, where the digital age has all but swallowed us, imposing on every aspect of our lives. The video is juxtaposed with footage of vintage electronics, VHS tapes, and compact discs, all reminiscent of an era before we were shackled to our iPhones. Panzeri features solo in the video, simply singing into a microphone, perhaps poignantly symbolizing the isolation we experience as a result of being over-exposed to technology while forgetting the importance of real human connections.

In spite of the introspective subject matter, Panzeri maintains that the track brings him immense joy. “It’s a song that makes me have fun; I always want to play it, it makes me want to move, to dance. Inside I put so many RNB influences and I mixed them with my infinite passion for the 60s, for The Beatles and for George Harrison. It’s the song that 2 years ago I never imagined to produce and that now makes me think that I could not produce music different from this.”
