Soprano opera singer Maria Matveeva together with well-known French Grammy-award-winning composer and producer Eric Mouquet aka Deep Forest have released their collaborative three-track EP titled “Siberian Trilogy Project” on the 21st December.
Deep Forest is one of the biggest selling artists as they’ve been nominated for a Grammy award on multiple times, before eventually winning the Best World Music album home in 1995. The French group with the highest amount of sales in 1995, Deep Forest have been dubbed pioneers of electronic music as they always aim to push the medium forward. It’s no wonder that multi-genre opera singer, Maria Matveeva teamed up with them to release this EP out into the world. Her pallette of influences come from artists such as current collaborators Deep Forest, Michael Cretu (Enigma), Mike Oldfield and Lisa Gerrard (Dead Can Dance), although her experimental twists and turns, and sonic vocal delivery could compare her best to artists such as Olafur Arnalds, Enigma, The Knife and ANOHNI for her theatrics in vocal technique and dramatic stage presence.
The Siberian Trilogy EP contains 3 tracks and one remix from iconic producer Gaudi. From the beginning, your ears are treated to the angelic voice of Matveeva as it dances over the tranquil production of Deep Forest. Each track embodies the best of what these two artists represent, so be sure to give each track the time it’s due and escape into the magical world of this stunning collaboration.
